I don't want to give a comment. Just want paste this thing out, showing how proud am I to be a part of SK Bandar UDA (2). Being among 20 schools which have been selected as high-performance school, The ministry gave a green light to the principals to implement their autonomy power. For further information, read the following news, courtesy of NST:

Read...read.. and read
The KSPK have laid out several components (tunjang) to equip pupils' need physically, mentally and socio-emotionally. But things got to be changed if you are in this school. I have learnt something. Something that I wish won't be repeated this year. I learnt that reading and writing skill ar the core skills that one should excel while they are in preschool. Once they have been detected CANNOT READ, it will give big smash on teachers' ability. It happened to me last year.Four of my pupils were hardcore illiterate. They couldn't read at all.
As a teacher, it was very shameful to find that I am unable to teach them how to read. I failed!
Thinking all these makes me stressful. As a result, I become an civil servant who works under pressure.
Yesterday (20th January) I supposed to monitor my kids for teeth check up but unfortunately I didn't go to school. I got severe headache and my body felt not really well. My nose was running.I went to the clinic and eventually I being rewarded (ehehe) with a medical certificate and few sachets of pill. Doctor advised me to have enough sleep and relax. He suggested me to take Anmum Lacta as I breastfeed my son and lost a very big amount of calcium after delivering him. Another thing that surprised me, I've been told that my blod pressure went down to 85/50, the number I never reached before.
Doctor said this resulted by having not enough sleep and relax. I think that is true. I never been in this situation before. I learnt that this situation inspires me to put lots of effort to ensure this class achieve good performance in reading and writing particularly. I know if I am in other school I will not be suffered like this, but at least I know the importance of pedagogy. They way I teach the pupils should be good and proper. As the result, pupils will succeed. This bring me happiness.

1 + 1 = 1
I don't mean to raise confusion, but this seems works for some of my kids. Some, I mean, half of them know how do the above formula 1+1=1 applies.
I thought about this days ago while I was searching a formula to let my kids know how to pronounce a single syllable. I will show you how does it work.
k + a = ka (the way to pronouce it "kuh" plus '"aaa" equals to "ka").
so the pupils will get it easy to pronounce the "ka" syllable. This formula refers to "one letter plus one lettter and it becomes one syllable".. Easy, isn't it?
I have snapped some pictures..

English Days
As usual, Tuesday and Thursday are English Days. Teacher and pupils have to speak English. Nobody is allowed to speak other than that language (Supposed to be). Even though most of the pupils are coming from Malay-speaking background, but it is the responsibility of teacher to expose the English atmospohere in school. This is an essential need before the are ready for Year One next year. Big thank goes out to Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia which made an enormous change in the national preschool syllabus effective from this year. (refer to KSPK,which have been posted.)
I did it few days ago. But as far as I concerned, it works for only 40% among pupils of my class. The rest are still struggling to find the meaning of every word I spoke. It made difficult for them as I give instruction in English, which seemed to be foreign language for them. I know it is not an easy task to accomplish. I have to make them familiar with this language rather than to see the effectiveness in a very short while. All in all, I have to be patient.
Yesterday, I hit a boy who looks so clever to me but unfortunately he was not able to say a very simple line of sentence :: my name is...... I regret for what I have done but don't worry, I only gave him a tender slap on his face. To show that I really concern about him. I hope after he come back home, he will be enligtened and realized the importance of learning English.
